GEO 365 Intro Geographics Info Sys
This course is an introduction to the principles of cartography and the use of maps in a variety of applications. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) discussions focus on data collection, including the use of GPS (global positioning systems), data analysis, and information presentation. Lab work includes the use and interpretation of maps and the capture and analysis of data using the PC based GIS ArcGIS. Exercises and demonstrations cover a variety of GIS applications. Includes a 1 credit lab which meets 2 hours weekly.
